| I was forced to change my password for www.GetGreatArt.com because spammers
were sending out huge amounts of spam through the e-mail on this site because
they gained entry through guessing my password. So I changed my password for
the web site but can not change the password for FrontPage 2002. I changed
the password though the cpanel of www.getgreatart.com. My computer is
Windows XP Professional with SP1 installed. My web hosting company is
http://www.ace-host.net/ which uses a Linux server. FrontPage extensions
were installed and had been working properly for a long time. I needed to
change some pages and had to go back to the old password to be able to
publish in FrontPage. I asked http://www.ace-host.net/ if this constituted a
security risk and they said yes. They told me to uninstall FrontPage
extensions and then reinstall them. I did this several times because the
reinstalling would take more than 20 minutes. Then I would cancel and find
that it was reinstalled. Finally I got the cpanel to actually reinstall the
FrontPage extensions but it said “Starting install, port: 80.
Creating web http://www.getgreatart.com.
Chowning Content in service /.
Error: An access setup description is required when creating the root web.”
Now when I go to publish through FrontPage it comes up with Server Error
FrontPage Security Violation and will not even allow me to enter a password.
Also, regarding passwords, can FrontPage passwords use upper and lower case
letters and also punctuation in the password? As it is I can’t use FrontPage
to publish to this site anymore and I would rather not have to use FTP.
http://www.ace-host.net/ said that I might have to use FTP now. Thanks for
your help.
