Author frontpage 2002 server extensions on Windows 2003 SP1

Hi, I can't seem to get FP2002 Server Extensions to work right on my Windows
Server 2003 box.

I've done a standard install of the server extensions, applied them to a
website. When I open up frontpage 2003 and try to connect to the website, I
get prompted 3 times for a username (incidentally, I use the same one that
is requested when I extend the server extensions). and then I get the
following error message:

"The folder 'http://www.myserver.org/' isn't accessible. The folder may be
located in an unavailable location, protected with a password, or the
filename contains a / or \."

In the Server Administration Site, when I click on the name of the website
that is supposed to take me to an admin page, I get the "You are not
authorized to view this page" error.

Any ideas?

Seth

Seth: Please define what you mean by "standard install".

Tom,
I have the same problem. I installed MS Server 2003 with IIS,
FrontPage Extensions, and SP1. There is no other installed software.
I just wanted to do some testing with Server2003. However, every time
I try to login to the FP administration site I get the same error
message as the grandparent. However, I've not had any problems with
FrontPage 2002 administration on my Win2k server.
Any ideas? I've been fiddling with this for about a day, and keep
coming up short. I appreciate any help you can provide.

Never mind. I found the answer. I had to enable Basic Auth in the
Directory Security tab of the website properties (just in case anybody
has the same problem). Thanks.

I tried Basic Auth but that did not owrk in my case. See my issue
description in:
microsoft.public.frontpage.extensions.windowsnt, Subject: FPSE 2003: Site
Admin Login Refused 8/28/2005 9:30 AM PST

If anyone has any ideas I would REALLY appreciate it. This is mind numbing
trying to figure this one out. Any thoughts on this perhaps being related to
Windows Server 2003 SP1?

Thanks - Jody
