Sending emails with form input....
|
|
| Mr. Know Nothing 2005-07-29, 5:55 pm |
| I am trying to setup a form that will send me its input via email. I have the
form and all setup but for some reason i'm told that my server extensions
aren't setup properly or that my SMTP server isn't setup correctly. I can't
see how this can be as i'm using my email server for my everyday email use
and when i look in IIS it says that the server extensions are allowed. I have
looked at the documentation from:
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;305675
and
http://www.rxs-enterprises.org/fp/b/smtp/
but that doesn't help as i'm running IIS 6.0 on a win server 2003 enterprise
edition. Can anyone help me with this problem?? Please I can't get an anwser
any where else.
Thank you in advance.

| Hi Mr. -
Are you connected live to your website? In frontpage go to file/open webs,
type in your web address and hit return. If you have a password protected
website, you will need to enter that information. Once you have your website
open you may want to delete the file you have ie form1 or whatever the name
is, while still connected to your webpage re-create your form. This will
allow your fp to talk to your server and allow the extension from the webbot
to work. If you are not connected to the webpage and try to publish the form,
then the link from your email to your webpage will be broken.
Don't forget to save your information!=o)
Then test send your form.
hope this helps!

Please tell us about the configuration of your system. Is the web hosted on a
server on your LAN? Is the mail server your Exchange Server? Give us the big
picture--an answer of No and No will elicit no follow up.

| The big picture well, the server is win 2003 enterprise eddition (I have full
control over) The mail server is the one that I set up on the server. I know
the mail server is working as I use it for my daily emails. That's all i can
think of as the big picture, if you need to know anything else just ask.

I would guess that it is not a relay problem. How are you specifying the email
server in the form properties?

| The FP forms to email requires that your email address be within the same
domain as your web/email domain.
