I have taught myself FP2003. I have had to publish my site via FTP because
my host server would not accept publishing via FP. The publish just stalled
and eventually returned "The following pages in your website contain dynamic
FP components such as a search form or FP form handler. .... " Opened a
ticket w/server and they re-installed FP extensions. But, additonal
publishing still did not work. Error returned re FP extensions/Share Point
files. I unchecked Share Point Services in Page Options. Still does not
work. Uploading site via FTP results in FP extensions requiring re-install.
Suspect file is a form requesing email response. However never have been
able to publish any other way except FPT. What is my solution????? Do I
need to do something else to remove Share Point? ( PS, I am a novice..so
keep it simple!)

You can not use any FP run time SE tools if you can not publish using FP http mode
- your host installing the FP SE and only allowing FTP upload makes the FP SE useless
(they should enable http publishing w/ FP)
For features requiring http publishing to a server w/ the FP SE see

If you have FrontPage extensions on your site, NEVER repeat NEVER use
FTP to upload files. FTP is a 99.9% guarantee of corrupting the
extensions.
You must publish using HTTP
With the local web open in FrontPage, use File->Publish Web/Site
If the Publishing properties dialogue does not open then click the
Publishing Properties link above the remote site window, and make sure
the URL is to a http:// address.
Type in the full URL for your web site in the form
http://www.example.com/
Login, and Publish.
If there are any errors, post them, in full, to this thread.

The alternative is to forego all the advantages of FP extensions and
use FTP.
Forms, hit counters, guestbooks, custom link bars will not work unless
you use your own server-side scripting. On some servers, you may have
to use a third party FTP client since FP's FTP engine cannot handle
all FTP servers.
