| We are trying to move our development to a new server with Windows 2003
Server, IIS6, Visual SourceSafe 6.0c, FPSE 2002, and we use Visual Interdev
6.0 as the client. Everything works for the most part except that Interdev
crashes when doing a "Get latest..." on a large number of files (like over
30 to 50). Sometimes Interdev just hangs, other times it throws an error
saying "Error accessing Source Control system. Check installation.". I
don't think it is a problem with Source Control because if I close Interdev
and reopen it, everything works fine until I try the whole process over
again.
This is happening on 3 client PC's I am testing with. If i point these
clients (without changing anything else) to our old server (Win2k Server,
SourceSafe 6.0, FPSE 98), everything works with no problems.
I have done a lot of searching and have seen a lot of articles stating that
Interdev may not be compatible with FPSE 2002, but I have not seen anything
definitive, or similar to what we are experiencing.
Has anyone else run into this?
Thanks,
Pete Conlan
