Problems with Extensions on 2003
|
|
| Kevin Antel 2005-12-02, 5:51 pm |
| I just installed Windows 2003 Server SP1 and am having problems with
permissions. I go in through the administration and can login normally to
the default web, but even though I removed and readded the extensions to the
additional webs, I cannot login to them. It fails. Did something change
where I can only login to the administration, I'm running Extesions version
5.0.2.6738.

| Many people have reported problems with the extensions after the
installation of SP1. The only fix we have found is to recommend removing
SP1. Or, contact MS support.

| When it comes as part of Win2K3, it cannot be uninstalled.

| Sorry, I overlook the part about comes with Win2k3, in which case the FP2002 extensions should
function correctly....

| Ahhh, that's good to know. I thought you've been referring to problems with
SP1 regardless of how it came. So, you mean if you installed SP1, it can
have issues.

| my server version is win2k3 enterprise SP1. Can't access frontpage admin
other than default web site, nor building a web application through VS 2005.
pretty much everything about using frontpage extension NOT function
correctly. should I better off reinstall the older win version instead?

| Unfortunately, you can't install an earlier version when it comes to
Win2003. You *must* use the extensions supplied with the O/S.
You might try opening up a ticket with MS support.

| Yes, if you allow SP1 to be installed.
