| I have long been avoiding the upgrade to FP 2002 extensions. However, we
are upgrading to Windows 2003 server and I am forced to use FP 2002
extensions. First, I don't want web admins to be able to create local
accounts. Since that is listed as an available right in the the Sharepoint
Admin tool, I thought if I cleared the checkbox and hit submit, that would
disallow admins from creating local accounts. It doesn't. At least for me.
That checkbox is cleared but users still can create local accounts. So, how
can I prevent this?
I also wanted to directly use domain user accounts instead of using the OWS
groups. I found the NoMachineGroups feature and have applied that. That
looks like it is working. However, now I have another problem. Whenever I
try to remove a user from a site's admin tool, the user only gets removed
from the roles he was in. The user still shows up under "Manage Users". I
don't want that. Is this the way it is supposed to be? Surely not.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I have googled for everything I can think
of.....found tons of articles dealing with NoMachineGroups but nothing to
solve my issues.
I'd be very grateful for any help.
