Frontpage 2003 Guestbook not working
|

| I have a family website on a server with Frontpage server extensions load
though I get the following error message. Is there something I am not doing?
I'm using the guestbook page from Frontpage 2003.
FrontPage Run-Time Component Page
You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web
server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly.
This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish
this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed.
Click the <Back> arrow to return to the previous page.

| The FrontPage Run-Time Component Page message is an indication the FPSE
(FrontPage Server Extensions) are missing or have become corrupt.
Tom asked if you transferred via FTP or http. If you used FTP, this will
corrupt the extensions. Either way, they need to be installed or reset. If
you have an option in your site control panel to do this, then reinstall and
then republish. If not, ask your host reset the extensions for you.
Use File >> Publish Web and double check to be sure it is going to
http://yourdomain.com

| I typically publish within FronPage. I did see from another response that
using FTP will corrupt the extensions. I'll reinstall and republish again.

| What do you specifically mean by "republish?" Is that a FP2003 command or do
you mean to "Publish Site" again? I've reinstalled the extensions, but I
need to know sppecifically what I need to do next to "republish."
Thank you

| With the site open on your local PC in FP via File Menu | Open Site, select File Menu | Publish Site
and enter the destination URL as http://www.yourdomainname.com

| I have installed and re-installed the extensions on the server, but continue
to get the error message. How do I ,specifically, republish the files after
I have reinstalled the extensions?
Thank you

| If I have made no changes, other than reinstalling the extensions, what will
FP "republish?"

| Do the publishing in two steps...
Step 1: Publish the complete site overwriting everything
Step 2: Publish the site with Changes Page Only selected.
Make sure Optimize HTML is not enabled.
If prompted about the navigation structure, select to Replace.
