| I am running Windows XP Pro, I've installed IIS 5.1 and FPSE 2000, I've
started the server and I've put the default web site in inet/pub/wwwroot.
When I type in the http://computername/webname I get the error message that
there is no server on port 80. Could someone please tell me what I've
missed. Thanks for your help.

| You need to launch IIS MMC and apply the extensions to the default web, then you would open the
default web in FP, create your folder, then convert the folder to subweb/subsite, then you should be
able to access it via
http://computername/webname

| How do I launch IIS MMC and apply the extensions to the default web? I went
into the MMC and all that is there is Console Root. I'm afraid to mess with
this without knowing what I'm doing. Thank you for your help.

| Select the specific web, then right click All task or Properties (I don't have access at the moment
to check) and you should option related to the extensions.

| Still having a problem. I have set up the IIS MMC and applied the
extensions. I opened the default web in FP, created the folder and converted
to subsite. When I attempted to open the http//computername/filename I got
the same error "Unable to open http://computername Could not find a
webserver at http://computername on port 80.
I'm sorry to keep asking but I think I'm almost there I just can't figure
out what I've missed. Thank you so much for your help.

Make sure the "IIS Admin" and "World Wide Web Publishing" services are
started. Look in the "Control Panels", "Administrative Tools", "Services"
tool.

| I have it working now; however, I have to type in http://localhost/ instead
of http://computername. This isn't a big deal but if you can tell me how to
change it I would appreciate it. Thanks for all the help!
