Adding multiple users to a Frontpage website

A club website I offered to help maintain is operating on a server with the
Frontpage 2002 extensions operating. I want to add a secured 'members only'
section to this - via a subdomain - but instead of just adding the user list
via mod-auth-dbm I need some way of getting 800+ user names and default
passwords into the authentication mechanism. Preferably without retyping them
all. Any pointers to suitable documentation gratefully accepted.
