I have read http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;321439
but unless I'm missing something vital that doesn't cover manipulating the
access permissions for the subdomain (or subweb or whatever it's called - you
can tell I'm just coming up to speed on this :-)). Is it possible to
add/delete/change user data for this programatically - for instance I need
for the users to be able to change their passwords. I don't see an available
interface/API for this - but I know I'm a long way from covering all the docs.

Thanks
Derek

A subweb is not a subdomain, and if using the FP extensions to control permissions, you would have
to manually manage user login info. You need to look for a service-side scripted solution using a
database. What to use will be based on what is supported by your web host.

If you feel your current issue is a results of installing
a Service Pack or security update, please contact
Microsoft Product Support Services:
http://support.microsoft.com
If the problem can be shown to have been caused by a
security update, then there is usually no charge for the call.

Thanks Mike. That would explain why it doesn't appear in the documentation :-)

The provider, Doteasy, says that having FP SE installed/active means that
the 'normal' way of running this sort of thing (perl/php mod-auth-dbm)
wouldn't work. Having looked at the .htaccess files they seems a little
bloated but not unworkable. Should I get back to them or am I missing
something else. They support php & mysql so I guess that will form the
backbone of the solution.
