Is running two versions possible
|
|
|
| I am running 5.0.2.6738 (x64) on my web server and developing on my xp pro
machine running its latest version 5.0.2.4803.
1) Is this possible? I can use Interdev to run in master mode looking at the
web server just fine. When it created the local mode site, it appeared to be
fine, all the files were listed under IIS. But opening one on my xp pro
machine it gets a page not found 404 error, even for an html file. Interdev
didn't seem to actually "make" a local site.
It didn't seem advisable to put to x64 version on my xp pro machine.
2) So should I remove that from the server and replace with the one from the
xp pro? (I assumed that getting the latest version of both meant they could
talk to each other, but I wrong)
Both servers have FP Extensions correctly installed and working for other
web sites.

| You must install the correct version of server extensions for the OS
being used.
Extensions for WinXP Pro will not work on any X64 operating system,
and extensions for an X64 will not work on Windows XP Pro, or on any
other non-X64 OS. All versions of 2002 extensions do the same thing,
so a web site developed on one version will work exactly the same way
on another.
You may need to check with an Interdev news group.
