How do I get a form in Frontpage to submit
|
|
| rains1977 2006-04-27, 7:26 am |
| .. I have used Frontpage to create the site, I have set the Microsoft
FrontPage® Server Extensions to yes, I have set my form properties in
FrontPage according to instructions on Microsoft's tutorial, for both email
and file. But I get this message when I submit the form Cannot run the
FrontPage Server Extensions on this page:
Any suggestions on what I need to do?

| According to http://home.comcast.net/~gchs1977/_vti_inf.html your host does not have the FP SE installed or configured for your site

Whatever it was, the form is working now, it took me to the default
contifmation page.
Looking at the code howerver, there is no email. If you only get the problem
with the email added, then this could be a problem with the comcast servers
configuration for SMTP. You could try a Yahoo address to see if that works.
If not, maybe comcast has a built in form handler.
As a rule, ISPs don't offer a full compliment of extension support.
I seem to remember that comcast email address aren't conmpatible with
formmail. Could be wrong about that !?

| Thank you - I discovered that Comcast does not support the save results to
email feature - which is what I was trying to do. I did figure out how to
get in to save to file that is readable.
Thanks,
