FrontPage is being eliminated by Microsoft late this year (2006) with the
following products:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/a...1205221033.aspx

Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Designer 2007
Microsoft® Expression™ Web Designer
Microsoft® Visual Studio 2005
Microsoft® Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition

Longhorn with IIS 7 will be coming out in the next year as well.

Does anyone know if the 4 apps listed above will support FPSE 2002? Will
Longhorn and IIS 7 support FPSE?

What is everyone else doing in your 1 - 2 year planning in regards to FPSE
support and integration. We use it here to support the creation of faculty
content, however I can't justify setting up any new sites with this
technology if it is being dropped and not supported in the future.
Sharepoint is over kill for our need at this point.

Tom - Suggestions... Any one else?

Thanks

The FP server extensions will not be used/required for these new programs.
The FP server extensions on new platforms are history.

FP2002 SE are the last of the line.

There is a God! I will not miss the headaches associated with FPSE!

My question is what is replacing it. We have no native SFTP or SSH. We have
very weak WebDav support. Visual Studio 2005 is not WebDav Aware.

How will I publish securely and efficently using MS Products? I see no clear
path as of yet.

I don't see much to comfort me there.
I sure hope they build the FPSEs into the SharePoint extensions.
Otherwise, I am going to be in serious trouble.
