Where to download Frontpage server extensions 2002?
|
|
| doug644@shaw.ca 2006-06-21, 1:24 am |
| The Frontpage server extensions 2002 for Windows is no longer availble
for download on Microsoft's website. An earlier post indicated that it
had being "retired". Is there an alternative site to download the
software? How large is the file?
| |

| I'm not aware of any alternative site, but you may wish to Google to see if
you can find something. I wasn't able to locate any.

| I am running Windows XP Pro with IIS installed. I have Frontpage 2002
that I would like to use to create some webpages. If the file is less
than 20 MB, then I can receive it by email.

| Windows XP Pro IIS comes with the FP2000 extensions, which are supported by FP2002 and up.
Windows update may updated them if you have them installed with IIS. There really is not much
additional functionality in the FP2002 extensions over the FP2000 especially if you are working with
them under Windows XP Pro

| I *had* to install the FP2002 extensions on my local WinXP Pro, because of
serious corruption issues with the FP 2000 extensions, that worked quite
well for some time, then went belly up. Remember our discussion on that a
couple of years ago, Stefan?

| There really isn't a big issue, if you are just using them under Windows XP Pro just for development
testing, since XP Pro is not designed for host web site live environment because of limited
security.
