| I'm having trouble doing Administration of FrontPage Extensions while logged
on the server, in a Terminal Session. In the Terminal Session I open the IIS
Manager and every time I try to do any administration of FrontPage for a site
(like "Check Server Extensions 2002" or "Recalculate Server Extensions 2002
Web") IE will start and then prompt me for a pasword, but nothing I enter is
accepted and I finally get the message "You are not authorized to view this
page."
Few notes:
A. This is a new Windows 2003 server w/SP1 installed. Setup as Stand alone
server (NOT in a Domain).
B. I can remotely, from my PC, copy the URL into my IE and then get into the
FrontPage Administration for that web site. (Tells me FrontPage and IIS are
working.)
C. Switching to "Basic authentication" works. I go into the IIS manager and
for a web site and change the "_vit_bin" virtual directory to add the
Authentication Method of "Basic authentication". While on Terminal Server, I
can then log into the FrontPage Administration web site for that web site.
D. Inside the Terminal Server session, I have tried changing Security for IE
and added sites to "Local intranet" and then "Trusted Sites".
I'm fairly sure this is due to an IE setting on Terminal Server and not an
issue with FrontPage, but don't know what to fix. I'm starting in this forum
because I felt most likely some other person using FrontPage probably had
happen.
