| Hi,
I have been struggling hard with HWS and somehow started getting a hold of
it when i read this.. in one of convsn of MikeH and Chris Whytock MSFT.
(Search for "HWS question" in the General category of the news group)
It says (quoting MCS) HWS wont be part of next release. IS THAT TRUE???
Request any one fromt he product team to clear or dismiss this rumour.
TIA

| Hi Paritosh,
I'm not from the product team, but I recently saw a document that states
that HWS will not be enhanced but will be fully supported in the next version
of BizTalk. Read this post
(http://sphear.demon.nl/weblogs/carl...10/13/1485.aspx) on my
blog for more info.
Good luck,

| Thanks Carlo...
Scott woodgates comment on the article was a bit confusing though... seems
lot of things are under the wrap NDA..
The unfortunate thing is that most of the customers are also aware of the
fact that the biztalk implementation would change for Longhorn.. so might
rethink on moving to BTS now....
Right now am googling to find any comparisons w.r.t other tools as webM,
TIBCO etc. to convice the benefits..
if u have anythin let me know...
TIA

From the product team: HWS will be part of the next release of BizTalk (I'm
quite confident of this since I've got HWS bugs assigned to me for this
release, and I got another one today ). However, it should be noted that
no new feature work will be done on HWS... identified issues will be fixed,
but no new advances in functionality. Also, it being part of a server
release, it will be supportted by Microsoft for the usual timeframe (I
can't specifically remember if that's 7 or 10 years).
As for a release after the next release, I would say it's really too early
to make any predictions on what will or will not be in that release. At
least I currently have no idea what the plans are regarding HWS in this
respect, and I'd be rather suspicious of any definitive answers regarding
functionality this far out from a release.
Hopefully that helps a little,
