Hi,
Are there any comparison studies done w.r.t Biztalk 2004 and other tools
such as webMethods, TIBCO, etc.
any direct comparison with advantages and disadvantages... or something like
why BTS is better than others...

TIA
Paritosh

Try this http://www.fiorano.com/whitepapers/...competition.htm

Also, look at the excellent whitepaper from David Chappell, under
"Understanding BPM Servers" at http://www.chappellassoc.com/blog/ . It
doesn't give a competitive analysis as such, but describes the environment
in which they all exist very well.

(When googling the expressions ESB, SOA and BPM are useful).

This is a big topic of course but in general people using BizTalk Server
2004 tell me they like it (warts aside like all products) because:
1. Integration with VS.NET and the toolset enables them to get stuff done
faster than other products, in general. Faster = saving $.
2. Integration with Office (front-office to back-office) = giving value back
to the business, enabling business people to participate in the process.
3. Solid scaleable architecture build on the .NET FW
4. Its well priced relative to other products of comparable functionality

Our partner edition compares very favourably with the vendor mentioned below
in terms of functionality and price point and in general can be thought of
as an ESB play.
