All of a sudden I'm having trouble configuring functoids. I'm trying to
connect an equals functoid (with the requisite two arguments) to a value
mapping functoid, but I'm getting the circle with the slash through it. I
have done this before with no problem, but now it is as if the functoids are
bugging out. In another case, on another map, I have successfully connected
the equal functoid to the value mapping functoid, and connected the value
mapping functoid to a destination node, but when I look at the properties for
the value mapping functoid, there is only one input parameter, yet there is
an input link and an output link. This is strange behavior.

Make sure that the functoid from which you are taking the output is to the
left of the functoid that you are connecting to. I have had a number of
students have problems with this. If one functoid is directly above or
below another functoid, you can not connect the functoids together as the
mapper can not determine if you are wanting the input or ouput of the one
functoid to link to the the input or output of the other.
