I got new desktop with Xp SP2 already installed(I can not even uninstall it
now...!),
getting "can not register pipeline.dll error" during configuration.

Any Idea ?I did installed all pre-req. also modify registry setting for RPC
as per doc.

I kind of stuck now ,
Any help

Thanks.

Ashish Udas.

In some cases the ICF(internet connection firewall) has been the culprit.
What exact settings(in lieu of disabling the entire firewall) has not been
investigated yet.

What was the regkey setting for RPC you set? SP2 disables DTC, so even if
a key was set for it's settings, it doesn't necessarily mean its enabled.

Take a look at my blog for recommendations. I ran into this issue early on.
