Hi,
when I do a search in my messaging manager I get the
following:

"The response document is not a valid document. This could
be due to an invalid BizTalk Server path, a failure in
server authentication, or SSL not being enabled on your
BizTalk Server."

Any other discussions I have seen relate to WebDav not
working. However I am able to see webdav without any
problem.

Can anyone advise of potential solutions?

Thanks

Lenin

Messaging manager communicates using IIS and a web service. When you click
"Channels" or "Ports" (etc) it issues a web request for the appropriate XML
document. The response has to be the appropriate XML document. If it is
not, you get this message.

Has this installation of Biztalk been working in the past, and perhaps it
stopped after you installed something (if so, what did you install... so we
can track this down)? Or, perhaps this is a new install of Biztalk on this
particular machine?

Are you running Messaging Manager on the same machine as IIS, or a different
machine? If a different machine, where is SQL Server?

More information is needed at this point to help break this down.

Thanks for the prompt reply Nixk, answers below.

This is a new installation.
Messaging Manager, IIS and SQL on the same box.

I have removed and re-installed a number of times ( I did
not remove any of the SQL datavases when I removed
BTS2002 )

Hello Lenin,

Just to add to Jan's excellent suggestion, take a look at the following
Microsoft KB article

Knowledge Base Article - 301305
HOW TO: Configure ASP Web Pages in Windows 2000
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...&NoWebContent=1

I hope this helps,

I had already tried the second of the two articles
provided. When I try to "check server extensions" it
reports:

Web http://sbs-server/MessagingManager
Begin check 20/01/2004 21:56:48
PROBLEM: The folder "/MessagingManager/_vti_bin" is not
executable. Marking it executable.
CORRECTED

When I run ot again it reports the same message. Can I
assume this has executed properly. Regardless this does
not solve the problem.

Any more input would be appreciated.

Lenin

No I don't have a _vti_bin, and yes I can write a small
asp page that works.

I have tried a remove / re-install again same issue.
One thing that struck me recently was that I had installed
( then removed ) BTS 2004 Beta. Perhaps something got
messed up there??
