In Scott Woodgates "Getting up to Speed with BizTalk 2004" presentation, my
ears perked up when he said in passing that BizTalk 2004 was processing in
the 100's of messages per second (this was said in the same sentence that
formal benchmarking results will be published over the next 2 months)

Is anybody getting this kind of performance? We did a performance test where
we put 500 small xml files in a folder and watched BizTalk 2004 Beta perform
a very small orchestration, that took about 2 minutes to process all the
files. In this case processing 5 messages per second.

Microsoft claims that the Beta was not tweaked to maximize performance. Can
I expect a difference of such magnitudes in performance with the production
versus beta versions?

Thanks,

To answer your question below - absolutely yes if you are referring to the
formal beta.
