Author cannot monitor receive location

Hey,

When I try to put a receive location on a share defined on a Mainframe via a tool called Open Edition, I'll get following error:

The receive location "\\Dfsmfp.sidmar.be.\KLRCOMDOS\steelin\vzadvies\*.EBCDIC" is shutting down. Details:"The FILE receive adapter cannot monitor receive location \\Dfsmfp.sidmar.be.\KLRCOMDOS\steelin\vzadvies\. ".

Now when I put the Batch Size to 1, it doesn't generate this error anymore.
In the documentation there is no real explanation of how this Batch size parameter has to be used and how this is implemented. What does a file location need to implement before you can set this higher than 1 for example.

Hope someone has the answer.

Tx,
Danny.

That is very weired. This error is caused when file receive adapter not
able to register a change notification on the file share. Setting batch
size to 1 will have not effect on this at all.

I think what happens is that when you have a number of the files in the
directory already, the file receive will take longer to process the files
one by one before it finishes all the files in the directory. Once there
are no more files in the folder, it will try to register for next change
event notification. Because that fails, receive location will then be shut
down.
