hello

want to ask about the different biztalk databases. is there an install where the following databases may not be required, and hence it is possible to not have these created?

- BAM Primary Import database
- BAM Archive database
- Human Workflow Services Administration database
- BizTalk Base EDI database?

Also, where can I find more info on BAM and HWS? what their purpose is and how they are used?

No, those databases are required for BizTalk Server to function. I suppose you may be able to install the development tools on your computer, but you will have know way of testing your stuff locally. I forgot the exact purposes for each but check out th
e latest documentation.

Good luck,
Scott

so just to clarify, if i am not interested in using the hws and the bam components, i still have to get them installed, and in turn get these databases installed? no way to leave out hws and bam?

If you chooe to NOT install HWS and thereby NOT configure it you should not
see the HWS.
I believe BAM is part of the base engine and will still get created.

Thanks,
MRoze
