Trouble Opening Schemas in BizTalk Mapper
|
|
|
| Hello All:
I installed BizTalk 2004 on my Windows 2000 desktop. This is the first time that I am installing any version of BizTalk on my computer. I was stepping through one of the tutorials that comes along with SDK, namely, BizTalk Server 2004 Tutorial: Module 1.
In this tutorial, one has to first create a couple of schemas with the BizTalk Editor and then add a Map to the project and create a mapping between the two schemas using the BizTalk Mapper. After adding a new Map to the project, when I click on the "Open
Source Scheme" or "Open Destination Schema" links that appear on the left and right panes of the BizTalk Mapper, nothing happens at all. I am supposed to be prompted with a window in which I can make the source and destination schema selections.
Has anyone encountered this? What could be the source of this problem?
Thanks in advance for any pointers.
Viji Sarathy
Following are the various software versions that I have installed:
Visual Studio .NET: 7.1.3088
..NET Framework: 1.1.4322
OS: Windows 2000 Professional 5.0.2195 Service Pack 4

| Is there no one that has experienced this problem?
I have checked my BizTalk 2004 installtion several times and all the components seem to have been installed.
Yet, when I create a BizTalk Map and click on the links "Open Source Schema" or "Open Destination Schema" in the Mapper, it does not open up the dialog that would enable me to assign the schemas. And, yes, I have created the schemas already in the same p
roject.
I am trying to recreate the Tutorial Module #1 while I encountered this?
Can someone with BizTalk 2004 please attempt this with their VS.NET and tell me if it works. Perhaps, then I can compare version numbers etc.
Thanks a lot.

| Still need a resolution to this one.
Please! This is a really weird error. How is that a open file dialog can be
missing like this?

| I have never saw this.
Did you try to repair BizTalk installation?
Is your map part of BizTalk project that is currently opened? (Even if it is not, I get error message saying that schema can be choosen only in the context of BizTalk project.
You said that you don't get anything).
Do you have BizTalk installed on any other machine? Can you repro it there?
Thanks
Tatyana
