Hi All

I have installed BizTalk Server 2004 on my machine. Removed ForntPage extensions.

Now, due to some project work, I had to create a Web Service project.

When I create a web service project, I am getting an error saying http:\\localhost\DIRNAME is not available. However if I try creating the virtual directory manually and try to open the project is also failing.

Is it because of BizTalk installation ?

Do I need to anything extra.

Thanks

Hi, in first place I would like to know if you install Windows Sharepoint Services, why?, the reason why is because Window Sharepoint takes de default web site, it means that it managed the web site, this could be a reason why you cant use your web service.

I suggest you to create the Virtual Directory in a new web site, use 81 port.

Make sure you do an excluded path for this vdir under the Sharepoint
Central Administration site (under define managed paths) on this machine.
If you have installed it for BAS...you have to do an excluded path for
this. Then it should work for you.
