Hi all,
I am having a problem with Biztalk 2002, that I can't seem to=
figure out - thought it would be simple=2E The receive function is=
configured to pick up files from a File protocol but the file is=
not being picked up=2E This is evident because the file remains in=
the directory and there are no error messages in the Event=
Viewer application log=2E However there is an informational=
message in the app log pertaining to MSDTC which reads :"String=
message: Session idle timeout over, tearing down the session"=2E
The receive function worked before ( a few days ago)=2E I also=
checked that the server is up, the receive fuction is enabled,=
the file is not read only e=2Et=2Ec=2E
I would appreciate some insight into this please=2E
Thanks,
Ann

| Where is the file located that you are trying to pick up? Is it on the
BizTalk machine or another server? Does the account the BTS2002 is running
under have the correct permissions to copy and then delete the file?

| Hi,
I have seen a few cases of this and haven't yet found a common cause or a good
solution.
It usually occurs when you are using network file shares. Check credentials,
make sure the biztalk server account has access to the share - I guess it has
as it worked before. I have seen it before when a remote computer went down
and there were many attempts to access it. biztalk doesnt seem to detect
these sorts of problems
and disable the receive function. There is a windows quota setting that
covers the number of LM sessions that can be open at once, the default is
quite low (compared to biztalk's needs). In conjunction with a network
problem this can result file receives not working.
The best I can suggest is that you reboot the server and monitor the system.
Really check the event logs to see what else was happening. See if you can
spot when it stopped working (e.g. look at tracking).
