Wise compacting software help needed
|
|

| Hi everybody,
Many software packages nowadays are compacted into a self extracting ".exe"
file with WISE extractor.
But lots of these self extracting software packages have names which makes
no sense (8 characters format to be compatible with DOS), and are delivered
without a short description like in the good old BBS day's (*.DIZ).
And none of the common expanders as WinZip or WinRar can open a Wise
compressed file for viewing .
I would like to know if someone knows of any software that can be used to
open these self extracting Wise files for viewing or knows of a link to a
website where I can get this information.
Thanks,
Carlos

This newsgroup is dedicated to BizTalk, a Microsoft Enterprise product. You would dramatically increase your chances
to get an asnwer by posting to a WISE related newsgroup.
As far as your specific question is concerned, I believe WISE ships authoring tools allowing to do this. You may want to contact them
ans license a copy of their authoring suite.
There is a chance that the setup may have been packaged using iexpress. If so, then running the exe with /? will give you the options to extract.
Thanks,
-Gilles.

Sorry for the intrusion in this newsgroup.
I didn't know that this NG was specialy dedicated to a Microsoft Enterprise
product.

I already put the same message into the Wise website, but no answers yet.

I never tried this option.
Worth to try it.
