Hi,

I want to put my biztalk database on a separate machine to my biztalk
install. Could someone give me a step by step guide on which domain accounts
I should use?

thanks

Hi John

This is all detailed in the install guide.
http://download.microsoft.com/downl...llation%20Guide(EN).htm

From the DOC:

The following items should be considered when integrating with Active
Directory:

In a single computer configuration you may use either local accounts or
Active Directory to store credentials.

In a multiple computer configuration, Active Directory is required.

You should name the groups the same names as the default names. This makes
troubleshooting easier.

Hi John,

There's a whitepaper on setting up a multi box environment here:

http://www.only4gurus.com/v3/download.asp?ID=6428

"BizTalk Server 2004 Installation Notes"

This covers how to set up the DC, and set the users and groups.

Regards,

Alan

Alan, in the article you linked below, it mentions that biztalk development
tools are only installed on workstations. in this scenario, as far as i
understand, everytime i deploy, i deploy to live system.(correct me if i am
wrong.) i am a little bit concern about it. my questions are:
1. should we put stage or test server between live and development boxes??
so i deploy to test server first before going to live

2. what do you think install biztal server on development workstations too?
in our environment we have 3 developer/interface analyst and what i think
is 3 steps: i. develop schema/mapping/orch on development; ii. deploy to
test/stage server to test; and finally iii. move to live system.

i'd like to hear any advice for this.

thanks,
jj
