Covast Allow Duplicate Documents Not Working
|
|
|
| I am using the Covast Accelerator 4.1.134 with BizTalk 2004 to process
ASC-X12-4010 documents. In the transport type properties of the receive
location, there is a setting that allows duplicate EDI documents to be
processed by the Covast Accelerator. For some unknown reason, the Covast
accelerator is rejecting all duplicate documents without regard to this
setting. Up until recently, the receive location was allow ducplicates just
fine when set to Allo Duplicates=Yes.
I had this problem in May of this year and Covast was either unable or
unwilling to find an answer. Covast has what appears to be a policy of
ignoring product defects until customers solve it themselves or give up in
frustration (even the company executives feel that they do not need to
respond to customers, which is sad), so consulting their technical expertise
is unfortunately not a practical solution. I fixed it the last time by wiping
the server clean and reinstalling the entire system.
Does anyone know of any resource to explain what would cause Covast
Accelerator to not respond to the settings in the receive location transport
type an never allow duplicate EDI documents?

| Sid,
I've had similar problems with the Covast EDI Accelerator for BTS 2004,
but have never seen this problem with the 'Allow Duplicates' flag. I'm
also sorry to hear about the experiences with Covast...
I always find that if receive ports/send ports get screwed up, deleting
the port in question through BizTalk Explorer and re-creating it will
solve the problem. Although I appreciate that you will need to
re-configure the port, its a damn sight easier than wiping your
system...
Let me know how you get on.
Nick.

| Thank you Nick, that did the trick this time.
