Author question about port configuration

I am working on my first biztalk project and I have come to a
roadblock. I have successfully submitted a po request from a web form
using a published web service that represents my orchestration. I
created and I am able to send it to a port which uses smtp to email the
xml. However, once I have gone past that point and used a construct to
map the schema to my response schema I am not sure how to proceed with
allowing the user to view the entered data and submitting changes. My
goals are this...

1. Have the user click a link in the email which includes a querystring
value of the request id. (I have this working)
2. Use that id in my web project to grab the data from biztalk
3. Manipulate the data as needed and submit back to my biztalk
orchestration

I am so new to biztalk that I'm not sure the best way to set up my
orchestration to handle this. After my send port that uses smtp,
should i have another request-response report that sends the xml data
and waits for the response? Is my send smtp port sufficient and I can
somehow grab the data using just the ID of the request, and I only need
a one-way response port that returns the data to biztalk?

I am a really new to this, so any help would be huge for me. Thanks.
