Processing cubes automatically
|
|
|
| I have not been able to view Service and Message Metrics
using HAT. An error occurs saying that the cube is
invalid. I have processed the cubes using Analysis
Services Manager and was able to see the cube data.
I have heard that you can use a DTS package to do this
automatically. Where can I find this, or do I have to
write one? Any help will be much appreciated.

| Hi,
In Sql enterprise manager, go to 'Data Transformation Services/ Local
Packages'. Here you can create a DTS package.
In the designer, there is a Analysis service processing task. Have a look at
this. This will let you process and also schedule the cube.
Cheers,

| Hi Mike
Thanks for the reply. Didn't realise it was that simple.
However what would be the best way to set it up. Do I
setup a different task for each cube individually or
process the whole BizTalkAnalysisDB. What process option
is recommended, Full, Refresh or Incremental?
Regards
Gary

| Hi Gary,
The pages under the topic at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d..._howto_hmge.asp
titled "Service Metrics and Message Metrics" should provide all the info you
need.
