Can i have two stand alone installations of Biztalk server but pointing to
only one instance of Biztalk databases?

i.e. My biztalk servers will NOT be installed in a Biztalk group.

Kindly let me know. Thanks in advance!

Not really, no.

Since the group is essentially the database, this cannot be done.
of course, you could use the same database server and rename the databases.

Why would you want to share the database and not use a group?

You can do it in the way explained by Yossi, you can have the same SQL
server but two set of Biztalk Databases (of course with different names).

Just a try:
If your scenario is like you use only one biztalk server at a time but need
to point to the same SQL database once in a while, then you can run the
ConfigFramework /u from 1st biztalk box and run Configframework from 2nd
biztalk box to attach it to the database.
