Biztalk 2004 Developer Edition

| It is my understanding that Biztalk 2004 only runs on servers but the
Developer Edition also runs on Win XP Pro and Win 2000 Pro workstations.
That sounds good but I am wondering if developing on Windows 2003 Server
using the Developer Edition is an advantage. Sooner or later the testing
must be done using the Biztalk 2004 Standard or Enterprise platforms. I am
trying to understand how transparent Biztalk 2004 developer edition really
is and if it offers any advantages other than running on the Windows
Workstations. Please advise. Thanks for your help.
Best Regards,

| I've done both and found that developing on a notebook running WinXP SP2
works just fine. I then install my "integrations" on a test W2K3 SP1 server
and run unit tests until final deployment on the production server. The only
thing you can't do on WinXP is install Windows SharePoint Services for BAM.

| Hi Paul,
Sure, if you install Developer Edition on Windows 2003, the SQL and
WSS based BAS can also be deployed on the same machine.
