Hello,

I'm going to have to offer Matt Milner a full time job unless anyone else
knows about the IFactRetriever :-)

I'm new to the Rules Engine and have reviewed the SDK examples as well as
read most of what is available on the internet regarding the IFactRetriever
interface.

I understand that the Rules Engine can set a group values using the
IFactRetriever and that is exactly what I'd like to do.

The example of how to create a fact retriever is clear, its the
implimentation that I have a problem with.

How exactly do you use the IFactRetriever with an orchestration? All the
examples are code based.

I have 2 possible scenarios I'm working thru using trial and error, either:

There is a way to use it within an orchestration, somehow its passed in to
the rules call, if so how?

Its somehow set in the policy, if so how/where? I dont see it.

I cant find the link between the fact retreiver and its use within an
orchestration. All the SDK examples have the IFactRetriever interface
called inside some code...

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is how to get the fact retriever configured in an orchestration:

Note: the configuration process is the same, orchestration or not. I was
under the impression I had to pass the fact retriever in with the rules
call. You dont. Its in the policy.

To link a fact retriever using the IFactRetriever interface you have to set
it within an unpublished policy version. This is in the properties under
"rules engine component configuration" >> fact retriever >> pick assembly
