I recently installed BTS 2006 CTP on a win 2003 server with BTS 2004
installed. I ran the "upgrade to 2006" option, played with BTS 06, and now
want to uininstall it. But when I run the Control Panel "Add or Remove
Programs" applet for BTS 2006, I get an "Installation Failed" messagebox.

Do I need to wipe the machine? I really don't want to do that, if it can be
avoided.

I think you need to post this to the beta newsgroup since the CTP is not
available to most folks unless they went to TechEd.
