Author Can't generate an instance of an EDI document using the base EDI adapter

I'm having difficulty generating an instance of an EDI document using the
base EDI adapter.

Here's the process I'm following:
Right-click on a BizTalk project and select "Add Existing Item"
Browse to C:\Program Files\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004\EDI\Adapter\EDI
Schemas\X12\4010\864Schema.xsd
I validate the schema and that works fine.
Right-click on the schema and set the Properties to:
Output Instance Filename: c:\Instance.txt
Generate Instance Output Type: Native
Right-click on the schema and select Generate Instance

The errors I get are as follows:

Z:\My Documents\Visual Studio
Projects\btsOceanConfirmation\btsOceanCo
nfirmation.Schemas\864Schema.xsd
Schema child simpleType is not supported. SimpleType time will be ignored.
C:\Instance.txt recipient: [][] [7654321][ZZ][7654321], (msgnr:0
segnr:0)(line:1 pos:0 filepos:0) error 42 [The recipient of the document is
not recognized. Contact the sender.].]
C:\Instance.txt sender: [][] [1234567][ZZ][1234567], (msgnr:0
segnr:0)(line:1 pos:0 filepos:0) error 41 [The sender of the document is not
recognized. Contact the system administrator.]
Z:\My Documents\Visual Studio
Projects\btsOceanConfirmation\btsOceanCo
nfirmation.Schemas\864Schema.xsd
Failed to create instance for schema 864Schema.xsd.
Z:\My Documents\Visual Studio

Node "<Schema>" - Target namespace is empty.
Z:\My Documents\Visual Studio
Projects\btsOceanConfirmation\btsOceanCo
nfirmation.Schemas\864Schema.xsd
Schema child simpleType is not supported. SimpleType date will be ignored.

These same errors occur on both my development machine (running Developer
edition) and on the server.

Now, I've heard you're "supposed to" have send/receive Partners defined
before you can generate an instance, but recently, I ran across the "Visual
Studio Hosted Experience" labs at
https://msdn.demoservers.com/defaul...0&t=main_groups
where I remoted to a lab computer via the BizTalk Lab and did EXACTLY the
same steps above, but without error--the instance was created successfully.
On the Microsoft lab machine, I did not create any parties or do anything
other than the above steps and I was able to generate an instance.

Anyone got any ideas?

Note: The only differences (so far) I can see with my setup vs. the lab
machine's setup are:
1 - I have a little more recent install than the lab machine (I'm running
BizTalk 2004 Service Pack 1), the lab machine is only running the base
install plus KB837168 hot fix.
2 - I have four hosts set up: ProductionInProcessHost and
ProductionIsolatedHost (both running on the production server) and
TestInProcessHost and TestIsolatedHost (both running on development/test
machines).
Question: The base EDI adapter isn't dependant upon the host being named the
default "BizTalkApplication" is it?????

Thanks,
Dan Tharp
