I know that there is an adapter that will read the event log, but my
understanding is that it was developed for BTS2k4, is there one available
for 2k6?

Eric,

You can try the one written for BTS2004, it will probably work on BTS2006.
I have a custom adapter, written for BTS2004 and it works well in BTS2006.
