Hi,

I was wondering, would it be advisable to put a rather large part of our
business logic into biztalk server.
I know i can make a (web)service, and put workflow in it and validations.
But Could i see Biztalk server as the middle layer in the three tier model?

for example:

I have a third party db containing CRM data.
And i want to give customers access to a part of there information through
Sharepoint Portal Server (read and write). Can i use biztalk as a means to
create a (Web)service and put most of the bussiness logic into the service.
Except for the UI Business Logic and Format wich would be build within
Sharepoint webparts.

Making the CRM Database the data layer, biztalk the middleware layer and
sharepoint server the UI layer?

Thanks in Advance!

Personally, I think treating BizTalk as a "high-end web service hosting
environment" makes all kinds of sense if you have already brought BizTalk
into your environment. (The abstractions that orchestrations provide can be
helpful in implementing even "vanilla" web services, let alone the
scaling/admin/tracking models.)
