I am trying to create a BizTalk server using the Business Activity Services
(BAS) SharePoint site. After entering in the information such as
Registration Name and BAM Query Web Service URL, I get the error "User
'xxx\prilling' does not have permission to perform this operation.". I do
not know what action it is talking about because I am doing this all on my
local machine where I have full and god-like privileges. I don't know if
this is related, but when I visit the URL
http://localhost:81/BAMQueryWebSvc/...ebService.asmx, which is the
default value for the BAM Query Web Service URL field, it will not accept my
credential.

I don't know if this is a probem with SharePoint, BizTalk, or IIS.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Hi Peter,
When specifying BizTalk server name, SLQ server name, etc, try using the
machine name instead of "localhost". And make sure the current logon user
is in KW BAS Admin group which is created during configuration. Box admin
wil NOT have all BA permission b ydefault and this is designed for security
reason. Also relogon after you add the user to this group.

By the way, are you sure you use port 81 not 80 to browse BAM Url?
And even the port is correct, you will still expected an error said "Server
Error in '/BAMQueryWebSvc' Application." which is by design for security
reason.

I have this senario to, where I have SPS on port 81 and Webservices on port 80 with FP Exts.

I managed to get round this by open the URL in IE:

http://servername:81/BAMQueryWebSvc...WebService.asmx

I supplied Administrator credentials.

Go back to your BAS 'Save and Close' screen, it will work.
