Hi,

When I tried to publish web service through "BizTalk Web Services wizard" I
meet with following error:

///
Failed To create project : http://localhost/....._proxy.
[System.IO.FileNotFountException] failed to read value for "MgmtDbName" key
from registry.
Failed to read value for "MgmtDbName" key while reading transport
configuration from registry
..........
//

I have installed only BizTalk developer tools on this machine and Biztalk
explorer is configured to remote Biztalk server.

May be I should perform additional configuration or ....

Has anyone had such experience with similar issue?

Thanks,
Pasha

Hi Pasha,

You'll need the BizTalk runtime engine configured so you can configure the
SOAP adapter, the isolated host, etc... The web service created by the
wizard depends on these to get the message into the BizTalk messagebox.

Note the below excerpt to be aware of from the "SOAP Adapter Security
Recommendations" page in the docs:

"The computer running the SOAP adapter also has the BizTalk Server runtime.
It is recommended you do not put the SOAP adapter in the perimeter network.
If you do, you have to open ports from the perimeter network to the data
domain for SQL Server traffic to the MessageBox database, and you are
exposing the BizTalk runtime to potential attacks. It is recommended you
configure the SOAP adapter in the processing domain (that is, not the
perimeter network). You can then configure the outmost firewall (FW4) to
forward SOAP requests through the firewall in the processing domain (FW3).
This mechanism is called reverse proxy (The ISA implementation is called Web
Publishing.) "
