BizTalk 2006 Release Version - BTSTask - Fault error
|
|
|
| Hi,
I recently installed the release version of BizTalk Server on Windows
2000 Server after uninstalling the Beta 2 and since then the BTSTask fails to
run. When I run the BTSTask from the command prompt every time some random
temporary file with .xml extension gets created.
C:\>BTSTask
FileName: 'C:\Documents and Settings\KSRINIVASAN\Local
Settings\Temp\tmp644.xml'
Error recorded in the event log:
Faulting application btstask.exe, version 3.5.1602.0, stamp 4410e83a,
faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.0.2195.7006, stamp 41dd0235, debug?
0, fault address 0x0002bc3f.
I also tried a fresh installation of the BizTalk Server 2006 Release version
but didn't solve the issue. No configuration changes were made to
BTSTask/BTSNTSvc
Everything worked fine in Biztalk Server 2006 Beta 2.
Can anyone tell me why BTSTask is throwing this error? Is it a bug in
Release version?
Any help on this is highly appreciated.
Thanks
Kasi

| COuld you provide us with the contents of the xml file tha tis being
generated? Does the exact same operation work from the UI?

| Its an empty XML file. I am able to add the resources using the BIzTalk
administration console. The error happens only if I use the BTSTask.

| I spoke to a couple of devs on the team but - sorry, we dont have a
solution for you just more questions:
If the error happens whatever BTSTask command you use (BTSTask Help,
BTSTask ListApp) then chances are that something outside of BizTalk is
messed up like the file system as both the admin MMC and BTSTask are thin
wrappers over the same set of API's so it is highly unlikely that one will
succeed and the other will fail. Also none of the errors that you reporting
seem to come from BizTalk itself.
In short this is something that we have not seen before.
Questions:
1) Could you send us the exact command you are entering
2) You mention errors in the event log - I assume nothing was printed to
the console by BTSTask?
3) Are you deploying to a local database or a remote database?
4) Are you running amdin console and BTSTask from the same box or from
different boxes (wondering what could be different between btstask and
admin mmc runs)?
5) What account are you running btstask under? Does it have BizTalk Admin
permissions?
6) Does the rest of BizTalk process fine? Does helloworld app work?
