Biztalk Messaging Service Failure
|
|
|
| Hi All
I have an biztalk 2002 server which installed on an Window 2000 Advance
server in Cluster environment. One day, our controller card is damaged and
replaced new one in the server. However, the database (Interchange_DTA &
Interchange_SQ) are suspected after failover testing. Now, the biztalk
messageing service doesn't work. How can I solve the problem? It's a critial
problem in our side. Thx
Regards

| HI Easy,
Let me get this clear , when you say BTS is running on Cluster, this
means Biztalk servcie MSCIS.exe is a cluster resource Now.
1. Is there any errros on Windows event log when you try to start.
2. Tell me the state of Biztalk messagin Server on Services.msc.
3. Is it a BT Farm, if yes, how many servers.
Regards,
Nishant

| Hi Nish
Yes, it is running as cluster resource. In the server, I find the this error
message "Cluster resource 'BizTalk Messaging Service' failed." in the event
log. It belongs to "ClusSvc" event source.
The status of BizTalk Messaging Service is blank in services.msc. The
service is not running.
We have no BT Farm in the office.
I can't solve this problem. How can i activate it again? Thx
Regards

| Hi Easy,
Try this:
1. Take the Resource offline from Cluster.
2. Go to the BTS server, open Services.msc and Windows TaskManager.
3. Now you will see the MSCIS.exe in the processes Tab. Kill the
process.
4. Go to services.msc and start BizTalk messaging service.I am assuming
it should start if BTS databases have no problem and BTS is able to
contact them.
5. Once BTS service is started, bring the cluster resource online.
PS: If After step 3,Service at BTS machine is not starting, Tell me the
Message in Event Log of BTS Machine.

Nishant

| Hi Nish
No offline option for the service because "BizTalk Messaging Service" is
failed to start in the group. And so MSCIS.exe doesn't exist in processes Tab.
I can start up the BizTalk Messaging Service in Services.msc without
problem. However, it will be disabled when I bring the "BizTalk Messaging
Service" cluster resource online. The system returns one error message
"Cluster resource 'BizTalk Messaging Service' failed'
Many Thx
