The system is XP Professional SP2. I have successfully installed and
configured BTS 2006. However, when the system is booted the Enterprise
Single Sign-On service sits in a "Starting" state for roughly two
minutes before posting these two events:

The Enterprise Single Sign-On Service service hung on starting.

The BizTalk Service BizTalk Group : BizTalkServerApplication service
depends on the Enterprise Single Sign-On Service service which failed to
start because of the following error:
After starting, the service hung in a start-pending state.

Has anyone experienced this? The full event descriptions are attached.

Hi Eugene -

Was there anything in the Application event log?

Can you start the ENTSSO service manually after the computer has rebooted?

Is your SQL Server local or remote? The ENTSSO takes a dependency on the
SQL Service if it is local.

Also, is your MSDTC service configured to start automatically or manually?
ENTSSO depends on the MSDTC service.

Are there any other services on your machine with could be causing
interactions with ENTSSO during the system startup?
