Hello

We are trying to install BizTalk 2006 Server into a clustered environment.
We have SQL Server 2005 clustered and already installed within a data tier.
We are now trying to install BizTalk into a middle tier and point it at our
database server. However the installation keeps failing when BizTalk attempts
to create its databases on our clustered database server. This appears to be
a permissions issue. However, we have given sysadmin rights to the user
account which the BizTalk server services run under. This does not appear to
address the issue. We have now had four attempts to install BizTalk and each
one failed – HELP!!!!

Does anyone have experience of installing BizTalk 2006 on a split
environment i.e. database held on a separate box to BizTalk application. If
so how did you manage it?

Spanner,
When you run configuration the account under which configuration.exe is run
needs to be DBA on the SQL box. It has to be a domain account, and you have
to have DTC configured on both machines. You can always pre-create the
databases and point configuration to them, but then you will need to be DBO
for those databases.

Take a look at this article:

cs/html/e4d0e707-6b9e-49e1-9f17-19b3bac1229e.asp. Among other things it
point to the list of domain groups that you will have to create.
