Hi all,

I'm just trying to configure the SSO Enterprise service on the first node of
a clustered SQL instance.

When I click on "Apply Configuration", I get a correct window summarizing
the parameters. Then, when the action goes on, it fails after about 40
seconds, saying:

Failed to create the SQL database 'SSODB' on SQL Server 'MySQLCluster' (with
SSO Administrator account 'MyDom/SSO Administrators'). (SSO)

In additional informations, I get:

(SQL: 0xFFFFFFFE: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to
completion of the operation or the server is not responding.) (SSO)

If you already encountered this error, please post the potential
resolution(s).

Here are some more details, 'in case':
- The event log has an informational message "Starting up database 'SSODB'".
- Both nodes are in a AD domain, and all accounts / Groups I use are also in
the same domain.
- The service account and current account are domain Admins and SQL Sysadmin.
- The BizTalk trace makes a lot of checks and then does a rollback:

Hi,

You can use the command line utility ssoconfig to have a try:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Enterprise Single Sign-On>ssoconfig -createdb
<secret server> <SSO Admin account> <SSO Affiliate Admin account>

If you receive "ERROR: 0x80070002 : The system cannot find the file
specified.", please delete the physical file SSODB.DBF and run the
configuration again.

Another possible cause is documented in following article. The
corresponding hotfix is included in Windows 2003 SP2.

A program that uses structured exception handling may stop responding for
several seconds in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with SP1

Please let me know if problem persists. Thanks.

Sincerely,

WenJun Zhang

I tested the configuration on another environment (Virtualized), and the
problem does'nt occur.

It seems that one of these points is realtive to my troubles:
- The first SQL server was running SQL 2005 without SP2,
- The disk performance on virtual environnment was very slow (although
Virtual Server 2005 R2).

Regards,

Sure, I'd also suggest you first apply SQL 2005 SP2 to have test.

Thanks.
