ESSO Service hanging on Server Reboot
|
|
|
| Hi
Everytime the BizTalk 2004 Server is rebooted a message appears on startup
that a service was unable to start.
Looking at the Event Viewer/System Log the following two messages appear
'The Enterprise Single Sign-On Service service hung on starting'
and
'The BizTalk Service BizTalk Group : BizTalkServerApplication service
depends on the Enterprise Single Sign-On Service service which failed to
start because of the following error:
After starting, the service hung in a start-pending state.'
When one looks at Administrative Tools/Services one finds that
1) The 'ESSO Service' has actually started
2) The 'BizTalk Service BizTalk Group: BizTalkServerApplication' Service
has not started
There is no problem when you manually stop/start the mentioned services
Has anyone out there experienced this before
Regards
Tim

| I have seen this once on an XP machine where something installed on the
machine seemed to delay SSO (AV software, SQL - not sure), Biztalk fails to
start and then SSO starts later per SCM but by that time Biztalk doesn't
start. Starting manually is fine. The issue is still being looked into.

| Hi Jack,
I have this issue on my XP SP1 machine (Biztalk 2004 Dev), and also on a
virtual Win2003 server running under Virtual Server 2005 (Biztalk 2004
Standard) on the same box.
I have another non-virtual Win2003 Biztalk 2004 standard install that does
not exhibit this issue.
Have you found anything about this error?
Regards,
Lincoln
