I am installing BizTalk 2004 in a multi-box setup. I have one BizTalk, one
Sql, and one development box. I am setting up all the WSS stuff and am trying
to figure out all the Application Pool and SQL configuration.

In the instructions it says to choose StsAdminAppPool and then continue. So
the question here is: Wont i need to change who the application pool is
running under to for it to connect to the SQL or does this one not even look
to the SQL database.

After that step you go to set configuration database server. So I pointed it
to the correct server and gave the db the name WWSDB. I would like to use
windows authentication but which account do I use to do this. There are a ton
of accounts the the installation guide had me create, which one do I use or
do I just use less secure SQL authentication?

Then you have to extend WSS web site on the BizTalk server to Sharepoint
Virtual Server. Well I click extend or upgrade virtual server, choose the
default web site and choose extend and create a Content Database. I enter
BTSAdminAppPool and now i have the same question as above what account do i
need to use for this application pool.

Thanks for your help.

There are two steps of configuring WSS with BizTalk BAS site.
1, Prepare WSS:
This include run stsadm.exe commands or config/extend WSS from WSS admin
page. In this process, an application pool is created for WSS admin web
site to use with a windows user account specified to run this app pool and
it has permission to connect SQL server to create and access WSS configure
database. Then during extend WSS, another application pool is specified or
created for default web site to use. This app pool will also run under a
Windows user account and need access to create and connect WSS content
database.

By this point, you should be able to create a WSS site from WSS admin page.

2, Create BAS site:
This is during BizTalk configuration. The BAS web site will be created and
recorded in WSS content database.

If you use a domain user as admin across all boxes (BAS and SQL), then you
can use it for app pool accounts.
