Author Error when configuring BAS SharePoint URL

I've installed windows sharepoint services and sharepoint portal server and
that all seems to be working fine. I can create new sites and administer
them, etc. I then tried to install BizTalk Server 2004 and got stuck in the
configuration wizard. On the Addresses screen, I'm asked for a BAS
SharePoint site URL, which when I leave as the default, gives me an error:

"Error encountered while querying virtual server state for URL:
http://myserver/sites/BASSite Error detail: !"ValueType mismatch".

Every solution I've seen on the web to this kind of problem points to an
improperly configured wss. I'be checked and double checked my wss
configuration, so unless someone can be more detailed as to what exactly I
need to check, I assume that is ok.

Any help y'all can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Please paste a copy of the %temp%\config(mmddyy hhmmss).log file here as
well as a copy of the web logs when you attempt to run the configuration.
If the config log is too large, then please just include the last 50 or so
lines leading up to the failure.

Thanks,

When I receive this error during configuration, the only option I have is to
cancel the configuration wizard. When I cancel the wizard from this point,
the entire wizard goes away with no subsequent screens, and there is no log
file in my c:\WINDOWS\Temp directory named config(<date> ).log. I see other
logs for sharepoint, but nothing for biztalk configuration.

Also, I'm not sure what you mean when you refer to "web logs" - where are
those located?

Thanks for your help....

This would be in your %temp% directory.

This is you user account %temp% directory. Usually, this is in a hidden
folder under C:\document and settings\<user account>\local settings\temp.
Inside there you should find a config file.
Also, by the web logs, I am referring to the w3svc logs identified in the
web site properties for the Default Web Site (where the "sites/BASSite"
virtual directory is located.

I have the same problem,
I'm attaching a copy of my log file.

In the IIS log, I see Biztalk getting access denied from SPS. Does Biztalk setup pass the credentials of logged in user to SPS?

This happens becuase you have Whidbey (.NET Framework 2.0) installed on
your system. SharePoint doesn't support Whidbey yet.

Thanks,
Sunghwa
