| We are currently working on an EDI solution for one of our
clients and had made an initial decision to go with
Biztalk. I've received the Biztalk 2004 beta and was about
to install it when I noticed some of the software
requirements. First, is it necessary for the user to have
Visual Studio 2003 installed to run biztalk or is that
just for development purposes? Second, can we get away
with purchasing the $50 developer license for SQL server
2000 to use on our clients machine for Biztalk? We are
trying to keep the cost as low as possible. Lastly, I have
been trying to create an XML 'map' to parse an EDI flat
file but have been unsuccessful. Ive been using the
Biztalk editor to create this map. I've also tried
examining some of the xml documents that came with the
evaluation edition of biztalk 2002 but have not met with
success trying to copy the same basic parsing rules from
the other EDI X12 specifications. I also tried to do the
learn biztalk lessons and tutorials but they would not
function properly on my machine. Does anyone have a good
resource for help on creating these maps to parse these
types of files?
Thank you very much in advance,
